CHC41215 Certificate IV in Career Development 

This course prepares participants for the role as an Associate Career Development Practitioner for work in a range of settings. Associate career development practitioners provide services that help people manage their careers, make occupational and study decisions, plan career transitions and find career information.

Participants who often undertake this course come from backgrounds including but not limited to;

  • Job placement and employment roles
  • School career and advisory positions
  • Career coaching and mentoring roles
  • Workforce re-entry programs
  • Transition support programs
  • Disability support programs
  • Employee Assistance Programs
  • School industry liaison positions
  • Rehabilitation support services roles
  • Provide support to people in career transition
  • Conduct career guidance interviews

The training program consists of thirteen (13) Units of Competency.

There are eight Core units:

  • CHCCOM002 Use communication to build relationships
  • CHCDIV001 Work with diverse people
  • CHCECD001 Analyse and apply information that supports employment and career development
  • CHCECD008 Deliver services consistent with a career development framework
  • CHCECD009 Conduct career guidance interviews
  • CHCECD010 Provide support to people in career transition
  • CHCLEG001 Work legally and ethically
  • CHCPRP001 Develop and maintain networks and collaborative partnerships.

And 5 elective units that are chosen to best suit your needs.

  • Face to Face and self-paced delivery & workshops (combination)
    • 13 x Fortnightly workshops from July to Dec 2023
    • Wednesday evenings 6.30-8.30pm
    • Bendigo location
  • Assessment for this program incorporates:
    • Written activities
      • Questions which relate to the underpinning knowledge of the unit (information found in the Learner Guide)
      • Questions which require some independent research to build on your skills and knowledge
    • Final Project (for each unit competency)
  • A Certificate IV level qualification takes a minimum of 6 months to complete for learners with no prior experience or knowledge of career development
  • Quality Service Skills completes an individual Learner Profile with each learner prior to enrolment, to gain an understanding of your prior skills and experience. This helps us to determine appropriate time-frames for completion of all study based on your needs and abilities.
  • The above time-frames include all training, assessment and workplace and/or placement observations.
  • There are no pre-requisite units of competency to undertake this program
  • Whilst it is preferable that the participants have the ability to access workplace documentation to assist with their assessments, it is not a formal requirement and Quality Service Skills can assist you to source sample templates, reports and audit plans.
  • A pre-enrolment interview and Language, Literacy and Numeracy Assessment is required to be undertaken by each participant, to ensure that this is the right course for you to complete, and to determine that you are able to undertake Assessments at AQF 4 (Certificate IV) level. If you have experience in auditing, compliance and continuous improvement activities, you may like to have those skills formally recognised through a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Process.

Quality Service Skills offers RPL for units of competency within the CHC41215 Certificate IV in Career Development.

Participants who are deemed competent through the RPL process are awarded either a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment or a full Certificate.

Quality Service Skills is currently approved by ASQA to deliver the Diploma of Quality Auditing and the individual Units of Competency across all states and territories of Australia; as well as via our Online Learning Management System. We can deliver training in your workplace, or in our training rooms.

Non-accredited training programs can be delivered anywhere in Australia. We are happy to provide quotes for training as we are flexible, can travel to your worksite (even if remotely located) and provide you with exceptional service every step of the way.
