HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
Would you know what to do in the case of a first aid emergency? Are you interested in learning essential CPR and first aid skills to provide an immediate first aid response to a casualty?
Topics include:
- Allergic reactions and Anaphylaxis
- Bleeding control
- Choking and airway obstructions
- Fractures and sprains
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
** A First Aid Certificate is current for 3 years from issue. You can update your CPR after 12 & 24 months. In the 3rd year you are required to complete First Aid again. Please submit an online enquiry or contact Jackie if you require further information.
For those with no first aid experience: 2 days in the classroom
For Corporate training where employees are required to hold a current First Aid certificate,QSS can provide the workbook for pre-reading and deliver the training in 1 day onsite.
There is a practical demonstration of casualty response scenarios, provision of CPR/AED, short answer questions within class time and a multiple-choice test at the completion of the training.
** Participants must be able to physically demonstrate 2 minutes of CPR on an Adult and a Baby Manikin
There are no pre-requisite requirements to undertake either of these first aid programs.
A First Aid Certificate is current for 3 years from issue. You can update your CPR after 12 & 24 months. In the 3rd year you are required to complete First Aid again.

HLTAID009 Provide Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

Do you need to update your CPR? You will learn the essential skills & knowledge to provide CPR (including use of an AED) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.
** It is a requirement of the ARC to update your CPR every 12 months to remain current. This can be completed two times before you are required to complete First Aid again. Please submit an online enquiry or contact Jackie if you require further information.
